WHAT WE DO?

Since its inception in 1987, Caline Artists International has been developing performance and touring opportunities for professional musicians across the globe, with concentration booking concert engagements in communities across North America.
Caline Artists International contacts in the artistic community working in a variety of artistic areas and musical disciplines from classical, folk, Celtic, ethnic, dance and theatre. In addition to booking performances, Caline Artists will consult with artists in regard to their promotional materials, stage production, CD projects and special touring projects.

Caline Artists International has also managed and consulted with non-profit arts organizations in Ontario and British Columbia for the past 18 years specializing in marketing, fundraising and special event management as well as administration and financial management of the organization.
Caline Artists works with the arts organization to develop a plan that can assist the organization in their delivery of their product.

Who We Are.

Margot Holmes has owned and operated Caline Artists International for the past 20 years. In addition to touring and promoting Canadian artists around the globe, she has worked with a variety of arts organizations in the position of senior staff responsible for management of the organization. Some of her clients have included: the Vancouver Island Symphony, (current) the British Columbia Boys Choir, (current) Sinfonia – Orchestra of the North Shore (North Vancouver); the Jewish Festival of the Arts (Vancouver), the Historical Markers Project of SouthEast Vancouver (Public Art & Heritage Project); the Banff International Festivals at the Banff Centre where she worked from 1996-2000 on the administrative team, responsible for the International Festival of Youth Orchestras.

Margot Holmes studied Music Performance (oboe) and Education at the University of Western Ontario in London and Arts Management through the Banff School of Management. In addition Margot has held positions with Decade Developments Corporation and the Canadian Council of the Blind as Director of Communications for Canada.

Bobbi Kurtz began her career in the arts and entertainment industry over 25 years ago as a roller skating performer touring throughout Alberta. In 1982 she was crowned the Best Yahooer’s in Southern Alberta at the Calgary Stampede, a title she proudly still holds today. In 2006, Bobbi joined Caline Artist International as the Booking Manager, after working as the General Manager of the VI International Children’s Festival, a non profit organization presenting Canadian and international artists to the youth and their families. Bobbi has worked with a variety of arts organizations as a publicist and currently works with the Vancouver Island Symphony as the Community Outreach Coordinator organizing Education Programmes for over 6000 students each year. Bobbi’s experience as a presenter has given her an understanding of the world of community presenting. Bobbi Kurtz is also known on Vancouver Island as Aunti Bobbi the Clown and she has been entertaining children and their families for over 10 years. She lives in Nanaimo with her husband and two teenage sons.

Tim Watson has been working in the field of arts management for over 20 years working with the Vancouver, Winnipeg, Edmonton and Okanagan Symphony orchestras and two years as Manager of the Sunshine Theatre Company in Kelowna, British Columbia.

Tim brings a musician’s insight to his management work. He received a Bachelor of Music degree in Performance (trumpet) from the University of Toronto and was a member of the Canadian Chamber Orchestra at the Banff Centre for two summers and for many years was a freelance musician with the Hamilton Philharmonic, the Kitchener Waterloo Symphony and the Sudbury Symphony.

In 2006, Tim returned to a freelance life and now is engaged in a variety of artistic activities including performing, teaching, band conducting and working with professional artists to further enhance their careers. Caline Artists is delighted to welcome Tim Watson to our team of arts professionals as the Orchestra Booking Manager. He brings to the table a wealth of information on what orchestras need and are looking for from their guest artists.
