Calvin Dyck, violin & Betty Suderman, piano


 

For Calvin Dyck music is a passion, a profession and a pleasure. He grew up in Mission, British Columbia and at age five started his musical training on the accordion. At age eight he began his violin studies. Calvin went on receive his Doctorate of Musical Studies from the University of Southern California. He has travelled the world with various musical ensembles and in addition to touring his shows (Golden & Dancing Violin); he is currently the Concertmaster of the Vancouver Island Symphony. Calvin has released four CDs: Mediation, The Shining Night, One Small Child and The Dancing Violin.

Pianist Betty Suderman is especially in demand as a performer of lieder and chamber music and has concertized in Canada, the United States, Europe, the Ukraine and Africa. Collaborating with fellow musicians is a particular joy for her. She has recorded with the Vancouver Cantata Singers, the West Coast Mennonite Choir including performances with Ben Heppner, Edith Wiens and Colin Balzer. She is heard frequently on public radio.
