Opera with a Twist and a Kiss

“They’re captivating, they’re hilarious and they’re clearly in love.” “The vocal pyrotechnics kept the audience members on the edge of their seats. What a brilliant duo.” “Visually appealing, vocally stunning and packed with dynamic energy from beginning to end, this duo is set for the stages of the world.”

“Opera With a Twist and a Kiss,” has been delighting fans with their love for music, mayhem and one another. Canadian born tenor Paul Moore graced the stages of opera houses and concert halls across Canada for over a decade, establishing him as one of the nation’s most promising young tenors in demand. His career took him to New York City where he met, fell in love with, and married soprano, Melina whose own career was blossoming in her hometown, the Big Apple. The two sought a change from the fast and furious life on the road, which kept them apart and moved back to Paul’s part of the world, the Okanagan Valley their home for the past decade. They have been singing to sold-out audiences ever since, delivering annual productions: “A Merry Moore Christmas” and “Spring is in the Aria” as well as “An Aria Extravaganza” which has received national attention on CBC Radio.

In 2007-08 Season, Paul and Melina will take their show Opera with a Twist and a Kiss! on the road, singing everything from opera to Broadway and beyond, the pair never fails to win the hearts of their fans; not only with their soaring voices but with their deep love for one another, which is apparent both onstage and off. Their signature pieces like “All I Ask of You” from Phantom of the Opera, “When the Children are Asleep” from Carousel, “O Soave Fanciulla” from La Boheme and the renowned duet “The Prayer” have audiences everywhere clamoring for more. Staging both duets and solo pieces, fans delight in the individuality of Paul and Melina as well, giving accolades for Paul’s ringing tenor in “La Donna e Mobile” from Rigoletto and awaiting with baited breath Melina’s giddy coloratura in “The Prima Donna Song.”

It is a true, old-fashioned love story of boy meets girl….and the story yearns to be told, again and again. Prepare to be delighted, to be moved, to be riveted and to be reminded that true love is not only still possible in this day and age, but it creates beautiful music and makes for one extraordinary show. It’s opera…with a twist and a kiss!
